Greatness Our definition of greatness may differ from God's definition of greatness. When we think of greatness, we often imagine kings, presidents—people with power, influence, or wealth. Right? But Jesus said: “Yet it shall not be so among you; but whoever desires to become great among you, let him be your servant. And whoever desires to be first among you, let him be your slave.” - Matthew 20:26–27 What does this even mean? According to us, greatness is the opposite of being a servant. So what does God mean by this verse? This challenges our entire understanding of greatness. According to the world’s definition, greatness is always measured in comparison to others—how much power someone has over others. A wealthy or intellectual person is considered great because they have more wealth or intellect than others. But God measures greatness based on the qualities we possess. Humility?
