What Is Celebration?
What Is Celebration? There are many kinds of celebrations, but when I think of celebration, my mind goes to Christmas. At times, I find myself getting lost in the celebration itself and forgetting the cause behind it. Getting ready for church, baking cakes, and preparing festive details can slowly overtake the true meaning of Christmas. This year was different. Both my children fell sick, and we spent Christmas at home, in our pyjamas. With everything else stripped away, the meaning of Christmas took the front seat. Somehow, I loved this Christmas better. Celebration is not wrong. But it should never be allowed to take precedence over the reason we are celebrating. So what really is celebration? It is the why, not the what.
